A few weeks ago I had the honor of meeting church planter Steven Foster. This musician and worship leader has an amazing heart for the Lord and for the people of Glen-Burnie, Md., an upscale suburb of Baltimore and the struggling neighborhood of Cherry Hill.
B3 Church strives to “be the difference” as they “build better believers.” A pastor’s son, Steven is no stranger to church life. But to hear him speak of the eighty who have come to Christ since launching the church and the ten who have been baptized in the past year alone, one quickly understands the scope of the vision. We want to “help people become who God has called them to be.” Steven says they want to, “help people move from exploring, to growing, to being connected and Christ centered.”
B3 currently meets in Lindale Middle School where they are fostering a great relationship with both school officials and students. The church asked the school to identify twenty students with the most office referrals and they have been given permission to mentor those students weekly. The results are literally changing lives! They have four major outreach events each year with the next in line being Palm Sunday weekend. They will hold a huge festival in a local park with free food, rotating Gospel presentations and bounce houses galore!
Won’t you join me in lifting up B3 Church, their pastor and his family? May God bless the socks off of the Glen-Burnie and Cherry Hill communities through their sacrifice.
