In case you’ve been on Mars for the past three months, life has been a bit of a whirlwind for River Church and the McIntyre family.
In February River signed her very first lease on a gracious space in the Leland Industrial Park. From that point things started moving quickly forward and then the totally unexpected hit. Kim suffered her fourth stroke the week after Valentine’s Day. She would spend the better part of two weeks in the hospital and rehab, but her recovery was nothing short of miraculous. We stood by praying expectantly while we watched God do the incredible and unexplainable! Nurses were wowed. Doctors were stunned and today you would have to have known her for years to find even a hint of that stroke. In fact, I really want to say she’s healthier today than she’s been in years! It is very clear that what Satan intended for harm, God has used to glorify Himself.
As we were finally able to begin work on the new space for church in early March, the projected bill, cost and time frame seemed a daunting and impossible goal for the month and a half we had remaining to launch on Easter Sunday. One step after another God provided. Not only did He provide, He truly blessed our socks off. From Cabinetry and counter tops at crazy good prices to a complete bank and all of its contents given to us for the taking. Families donated items. Partner churches gave. Businesses within the church family gave crazy amounts of time, talent and materials to the project. One church gave us chairs. Not just a few, but 170. Add those to the 100 we purchased from a church in Sanford (with money invested in the cause by a supporter) and we’re pushing 300!
God has shown Himself in miraculous ways over the past three months! I hope you’ve been following along. I know I don’t want to forget even one crazy cool moment of the whole process.
Easter Sunday we launched into this new space with worship which quite possibly hit an all new high. Attendance was at a record high and we filled almost every seat in the house. I can’t wait to see what God does in the months to come! He has a HUGE plan for River of Leland in Brunswick County. I’m humbled to play a small part in it!

It’s been so cool to follow along with River on social media!
Thanks Davey! Been a really cool time in my life for sure.
